Quest Forge Privacy Policy

Introduction

Quest Forge ("we," "us," or "our") is a gamified task management mobile application with a medieval fantasy theme, developed by Altynay Rakisheva (Individual Proprietorship, Kazakhstan). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not access or use the App.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" above and, where required by law, by providing notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve the App's features, such as task management, quest progression, and AI-powered chat. The types of information we collect include:

  1. Account Information: When you sign in using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive your email address and display name from the authentication provider. An account is required to use the App.
  2. User-Generated Content: Content you create within the App, including quests, tasks, task descriptions, deadlines, and conversations with the AI assistant ("Eldric"). This data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore under your user account.
  3. Profile Data: Your in-app profile information, including username, title, level, experience points, gold balance, stat allocations (strength, agility, intelligence, vitality, spirit), and unlocked items (themes, vibes, wallpapers).
  4. Usage Data: Automatically collected data including device information (device type, operating system version), and diagnostic data for crash reporting and bug fixes.
  5. Subscription Data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, subscription status and billing period are stored locally on your device using secure storage. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store); we do not collect or store payment information.

We do NOT collect:

  • Location data
  • Contact information
  • Browsing history
  • Financial or payment card information
  • Health or biometric data

Children's Privacy (COPPA): The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the App's core functionality (saving quests, tasks, profile data, and chat conversations).
  • To power the AI chat feature ("Eldric"), which processes your messages through OpenAI's API via Firebase Cloud Functions to generate responses.
  • To send local notifications (daily reminders and task deadline alerts) that you configure within the App.
  • To improve the App, analyze usage patterns, and fix bugs.
  • To comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, or protect our rights.

We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties. We do NOT use your data for advertising or tracking purposes. The App contains NO advertisements.

AI Features Disclosure

The App includes an AI chat assistant named "Eldric the Wizard." When you send a message to Eldric:

  • Your message is sent to Firebase Cloud Functions, which forwards it to OpenAI's API for processing.
  • The AI-generated response is stored in your Firestore account alongside your original message.
  • AI responses are generated content and should not be considered professional advice.
  • OpenAI processes your messages according to their own privacy policy and data usage terms.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Functions) — Data storage and authentication
  • Google Sign-In — Account creation and authentication
  • Apple Sign-In — Account creation and authentication (iOS)
  • OpenAI API — AI chat response generation (via Firebase Cloud Functions)
  • RevenueCat — Subscription management (when subscriptions are active)

Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Sharing Your Information

We may share your information in these limited circumstances:

  • With service providers (Firebase, OpenAI) who help us operate the App, bound by their respective data processing agreements.
  • In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • To comply with legal requirements, such as responding to subpoenas or government requests.

We do NOT share data for advertising purposes, as the App is ad-free.

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:

  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth (Google/Apple Sign-In).
  • Sensitive data (subscription info, auth tokens) is stored using device secure storage.
  • Firestore security rules restrict data access to authenticated users viewing only their own data.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

  • Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
  • Quests, tasks, and chat conversations are stored in Firestore under your user account.
  • You can delete individual conversations, quests, and tasks within the App.
  • To delete all your data, contact us at the email below to request full account deletion.
  • Upon account deletion, all associated data in Firestore will be permanently removed.

Your Privacy Rights

GDPR (European Economic Area Users): You have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. You may also object to or restrict processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

CCPA (California Residents): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data). To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

We will respond to all verified requests within 30 days.

International Data Transfers

Your data is stored in Google Firebase servers, which may be located outside your country of residence (including the United States). Google provides appropriate safeguards for international data transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top will be updated accordingly. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
